Bad Reception vocalist Riley Carter reported missing

Riley Carter, vocalist for rock band Bad Reception, has been reported missing after friends and family were unable to contact her following the group’s Friday night performance. Authorities confirmed Saturday that a missing-person report had been filed for Carter. Her whereabouts remained unknown as of publication. Carter was last known to have been at the venue where Bad Reception performed Jan. 12. Members of the band said she left following the show and has not returned home or contacted them since. Guitarist Evan Parker said attempts to reach Carter began shortly after the band realized she had left. “We called her, texted her, called people she knows,” Parker said. “At some point it stopped being a question of whether she wanted to be alone and became a question of whether she was safe.” The band said relatives and friends have also been contacted and that no one reached Saturday had reported speaking with Carter since Friday night. Bad Reception began publicly asking for information about Carter’s whereabouts after those efforts were unsuccessful. “If you actually saw her after the show or spoke to her, tell somebody,” Parker said. “That’s what we need right now.” Drummer Nico Alvarez said Carter occasionally withdrew from the group when overwhelmed but described the current absence as unusual. “She’ll ignore a phone for a while,” Alvarez said. “She doesn’t usually make it impossible for everybody to find her.” Authorities have asked anyone with direct information about Carter’s whereabouts to come forward. The band has separately asked fans not to circulate unconfirmed sightings or speculation online. Carter’s disappearance follows a difficult Jan. 12 performance that ended early. A backstage confrontation involving temporary bassist Trent Harlow also occurred later that night. Harlow was subsequently removed from the group. Authorities have not said whether either event is related to Carter’s disappearance. Longtime bassist Jace Holloway remains away from the band while recovering from an accidental overdose and was not present at Friday’s performance. Studio B - Hollywood said Bad Reception’s upcoming performances have been placed on hold while Carter remains missing. Parker said the band has no immediate plans beyond assisting with the search. “We just want her home,” he said.
